Altitude
Take the first day a little easier.
Big Sky sits at a high elevation, and skiing takes you higher. Headache, fatigue, nausea, and lightheadedness can happen even when you are fit. Take it easy on arrival, eat regular meals, drink water normally, and go lighter on alcohol the first night.

Do I need a car?
A rental car is the easiest option, especially for exploring. You can also use Karst Stage or the Skyline bus. Uber is available sometimes, but getting a ride back to the house can be difficult.
What should I know about winter driving?
The driveway is steep. In winter, use a 4-wheel-drive vehicle with snow tires. Take it slowly and check conditions before heading up.
Is the house really ski-in/ski-out?
Yes, when snow conditions allow. You can click into skis near the driveway and head toward the lift; when the road is not snow-packed, walk a short distance toward the Bear Back Poma lift.
Is there air conditioning?
No. This is typical for mountain homes here. The evenings cool down, and fans are available in the bedroom closets.
